FCI Value Junction: How the OMSS Grain e-Auction Works

FCI value junction is the name most buyers use for the online platform where the Food Corporation of India sells wheat and rice in e-auctions under the Open Market Sale Scheme (Domestic), or OMSS(D). The auctions are run for FCI by mjunction services limited on valuejunction.in/fci.

This guide is for flour millers, processors, traders and bulk buyers who want to understand the process before they register. It covers who can bid, how empanelment works, what happens on auction day and how you lift the grain afterwards.

We are an unofficial help site. We do not run auctions, take registrations or quote prices. Each tender decides the rules, so always read the tender itself.

What FCI OMSS Is

FCI holds buffer stocks of grain for the central pool. When it has surplus, it sells some of that grain in the open market. The route for this is the Open Market Sale Scheme (Domestic), usually shortened to fci omss.

Selling through an open e-auction lets many buyers compete on the same terms, and the sale record stays online. Grain comes from FCI depots, and the buyer lifts it from the depot named in the sale. To understand where that grain is stored, see our FCI godown guide.

Quantities, the grains on offer and the terms change from one tender to the next. Nothing on this page replaces the current tender document.

FCI Value Junction and the mjunction Portal

The e-auctions are run by mjunction services limited on its valuejunction platform. The FCI section sits at valuejunction.in/fci. That is why buyers search for valuejunction fci, mjunction fci or fci mjunction. They all mean the same place.

The portal is where FCI's sale notices are listed, where buyers register and get empanelled, and where the live bidding happens. FCI's own site, fci.gov.in, is the corporation's public website. The bidding itself happens on the auction portal.

Searches like fci mjunction login, mjunction fci login, mjunction login fci and value junction fci login all point to the buyer login on that same portal. Only empanelled buyers can bid.

Who Can Bid in an FCI Auction

Who may bid is set by each tender, and it can differ by grain and by round. As a general picture from past tenders:

Some rounds may be limited to particular buyer types or set other limits. Read the eligibility part of the tender before you prepare documents. If you are unsure whether your business qualifies, call the helpdesk before auction day, not during it.

How to Get Empanelled on valuejunction FCI

You must be empanelled on the portal before you can bid. The steps below give the general flow. The portal screens and the tender will show the exact details.

  1. Open valuejunction.in/fci by typing the address yourself.
  2. Start the buyer registration and fill in your business details exactly as they appear on your official papers.
  3. Upload the documents the portal and tender ask for. These usually include business tax and identity papers, such as GST and PAN details.
  4. Wait for your empanelment to be approved. Note the user ID you receive.
  5. Before each auction, read the tender and deposit any earnest money the tender sets, in the way it describes.

Keep scanned copies of your documents ready in one folder. Mismatched names between documents are a common reason for delays.

Bidding on Auction Day

On the day of the e-auction, log in early and check your connection. The tender lists the lots, the depots and the rules for bids.

  • Read each lot carefully: grain, quantity, depot and any quality notes.
  • Bid only on lots you can pay for and lift in the time allowed.
  • Watch the timer and follow any bidding rules written in the tender.
  • Save the result screen or download the result shown to you on the portal.

We never give reserve prices or past winning bids. Prices depend on each tender and on bids in that round.

Paying and Lifting the Grain

Winning a bid is not the end. You still need to pay and lift.

  1. Check the result and the sale papers on the portal.
  2. Pay the balance amount by the method and within the time the tender gives.
  3. Collect the papers the tender names for lifting the grain.
  4. Send your vehicles to the named depot with those papers.
  5. Lift the full quantity within the period allowed and keep copies of all papers.

If you miss a payment or lifting deadline, the tender sets what happens next. Read that part before you bid. To see how depots record grain going out, read about the Depot Online System.
