IRRS FCI: A Simple Guide to FCI’s Stock Reporting System

IRRS FCI is the Food Corporation of India's internal reporting system for foodgrain stock, depot capacity use and offtake. It brings these figures together from depots so that FCI can see the stock position in one place.

Most people who search for it fall into two groups. Some are FCI staff who need to file or read reports. Others are citizens, students or journalists who want to know how much grain FCI holds. This short page explains what we can say with confidence about IRRS, who uses it, and where the public can see stock figures instead.

We are an unofficial guide. We keep to what is known and point you to FCI for anything more.

What IRRS FCI Reports On

IRRS is a reporting tool, not a place where grain is bought, sold or moved. It collects three kinds of figures:

  • Foodgrain stock: how much grain is held.
  • Depot capacity use: how much of the available storage space is in use.
  • Offtake: how much grain has gone out of stock for use.

Daily depot work, such as recording receipts and issues, is a separate job done in depot systems. Our Depot Online System guide explains that side. IRRS is about reporting the overall position.

IRRS gathers stock, capacity use and offtake figures so that officers can read the position as reports rather than as scattered depot records.

FCI IRRS Login: Who Uses It

IRRS is for FCI staff. It is not open to the public, to traders or to job seekers. If you are searching for the irrs fci login or fci irrs login because your work needs it, ask your own office. Your section in charge or the Computer/IT section will tell you whether your role needs access and how it is given.

Do not use login steps or links shared in messages or posts. Do not use your HRMS password for any other system unless your office tells you that is how it works. For your HR records, the right place is the FCI HRMS login guide.

Only FCI staff use IRRS, so anyone who needs access should ask their own office rather than follow links found online.

What the Public Can See Instead

Citizens cannot open IRRS, but they can still see stock positions. Figures from IRRS are passed on to the FCI Reports app for phones. In that app, anyone can check how much wheat, rice and coarse grain is held, with amounts given in metric tonnes.

So if you are a student, a researcher or simply curious about how much grain the country holds, the app is the place to look, not the internal system. For the official picture of FCI's work, visit fci.gov.in. For background on where the grain sits, read our FCI godown page.

The public FCI Reports app draws on the same IRRS data, so citizens can view stock positions without logging in to the internal system.

How to Read FCI IRRS Stock Figures

Stock figures look heavy at first, but a few terms explain most of them.

TermPlain meaning
StockThe amount of grain held at that point
Wheat, rice, coarse grainsThe grain groups shown separately
Metric tonneThe unit used, equal to one thousand kilograms
Capacity useHow much storage space is being used
OfftakeGrain that has gone out of stock for use

When you compare figures, compare the same grain and the same unit. Do not add wheat to rice and call it one number unless the report itself does so. If a figure looks odd, check the date the report shows before drawing a conclusion.

When an IRRS FCI Report Does Not Load

Staff who use IRRS at work can try these steps when a report will not open.

  1. Check your internet connection by opening another site.
  2. Use a current browser and reload the page once.
  3. Close extra tabs of the same system and try again.
  4. Wait a while and retry, since reports can be slow at busy hours.
  5. Ask a colleague whether the same report opens for them.
  6. If the problem continues, tell your section in charge or the Computer/IT section of your office.

Members of the public who cannot see figures in the FCI Reports app should update the app and try again later.
