FCI Admit Card: How to Download It and What to Check

The FCI admit card is your entry pass to the online exam, and without a clear printout you will not be allowed inside the centre. It is also called the call letter or hall ticket, and it carries your roll number, exam date, reporting time and centre address.

This guide explains how the exam date is announced, how to download the card step by step, what to check the moment it opens, what to carry and what to do if the link fails. We do not host admit cards. You download yours only from the link given on fci.gov.in or the recruitment site it points to.

How the FCI Exam Date Is Announced

FCI does not fix one exam calendar for every year. Each recruitment cycle gets its own schedule. The FCI recruitment exam date usually appears in stages: a tentative date or window in the notification, then a short notice on the careers page shortly before the exam, and then the exact date and shift printed on your call letter.

The FCI category 3 exam date for AG III, JE and Stenographer posts and the Category II date for managers are often announced separately. Watchman exams are announced region by region. If you are waiting for the FCI AG 3 exam date or the FCI assistant grade 3 exam date, keep checking three places:

  • The careers or recruitment section on fci.gov.in.
  • The recruitment site that the FCI notice links to.
  • The email inbox and SMS on the mobile number you gave in the application.

Notices are sometimes carried in national newspapers too, but the website notice is the one to trust. Ignore dates shared on social media unless you can find the same notice on the official site.

Mark the exam window from the notice, then confirm the exact date and shift on your call letter once it is released.

FCI Admit Card Download Steps

When the call letter link goes live, the steps are short. The exact labels may differ a little between cycles.

  1. Open fci.gov.in and go to the careers or recruitment section.
  2. Find the notice for your post and phase, such as the FCI AG 3 admit card for Phase I or Phase II.
  3. Click the call letter link. It may open the recruitment site the notice points to.
  4. Enter your registration number or roll number.
  5. Enter your date of birth or password, as the page asks, and type the captcha shown.
  6. Click login or submit. Your admit card opens on screen.
  7. Download it as a PDF and save a copy on your phone and in your email.
  8. Print it on clean white A4 paper. Keep a spare printout at home as well.

Lost your registration number? Search your inbox for the confirmation email from the application. Most recruitment sites also have a "forgot registration number" link that uses your name, date of birth and email.

What Is Printed on the Call Letter and What to Check

Open the card as soon as you download it, not on the night before the exam. Check each line against your application:

Detail on cardWhat to check
Name and father's nameSpelling matches your photo ID
Photo and signatureThe ones you uploaded, clear and not blank
Post and categoryThe stream and category you applied for
Roll number and registration numberPrinted clearly
Exam date, shift and reporting timeNote them in your phone and calendar
Centre addressFull address, so you can visit it a day before
Instructions pageRead every line; it lists what to carry

If your photo on the card is blurred, the problem started with the upload. The declaration and photo format guide explains the sizes FCI notices ask for.

Read every line on the call letter calmly and compare it with your application before exam week begins.

AG III, Manager and Other Post Admit Cards

Each post and phase gets its own call letter. The FCI category 3 admit card covers AG III in all streams, Junior Engineer and Stenographer. A Phase I card does not let you sit Phase II. If you clear Phase I, a new card is released for Phase II, and the same is true for later rounds.

Manager and AGM candidates download a separate Category II call letter. Some recruitment cycles have been run zone by zone, so the card may name the zone you applied for. Watchman cards are released by the region that issued the notice. Read the AG III guide for how the two phases fit together.

What to Carry on Exam Day

The instructions page on the card is the final word. In most FCI exams so far, candidates have been asked to bring:

  • The printed call letter.
  • An original photo ID such as Aadhaar, PAN, passport, voter ID or driving licence, with the name exactly as on the card.
  • A photocopy of that ID if the card asks for it.
  • A recent passport size photo, the same as the one uploaded, if the card asks for it.

Phones, calculators, smart watches, bags and papers are not allowed inside. Reach well before the reporting time printed on the card. Gates close at the time given, and late candidates are usually not allowed in. Visit the centre a day before if it is in an unfamiliar area.

Clear document folder with a blank ID card, blank sheet and pen on a table
Keep the call letter, original photo ID and spare photo together in one clear folder the night before.
Empty corridor of an exam centre building with closed doors in early morning
Reach the centre early, since entry closes at the time printed on your card and late arrivals are usually turned away.

If the Admit Card Does Not Download or Has a Mistake

Most download problems are simple. Try these in order:

  1. Wait and try again later. The site is slow in the first hours after release.
  2. Use a computer or a different browser, and allow pop ups and downloads for the site.
  3. Check that your date of birth is in the format the page asks for.
  4. Recover your registration number or password using the link on the login page.
  5. If it still fails, use the helpdesk email or phone number printed in the recruitment notice.

If a detail on the card is wrong, such as a spelling or your photo, do not change it by hand. Email the helpdesk listed in the notice straight away, quoting your registration number, and carry proof of the correct detail to the centre. After the exam, the result guide explains what comes next.

Questions people ask

When is the FCI exam date?

FCI announces the exam date separately for each recruitment cycle and phase. Check the careers section on fci.gov.in, the recruitment site it links to and your registered email. The final date and shift are printed on your admit card.

How do I get the FCI admit card download link?

Open the careers or recruitment section on fci.gov.in and find the call letter notice for your post and phase. Log in with your registration number and date of birth or password. Save the PDF and print it.

Is the FCI cat 3 admit card the same as the FCI category 3 admit card?

Yes, both names mean the Category III call letter, used for AG III, JE and Stenographer posts. Each phase has its own card, so download the new one before every round.

Is the FCI hall ticket sent by post?

No. In recent cycles the call letter has been available only online. Download it from the official link, print it, and keep it safe until the final result.

Where is the fci.gov.in admit card link for the AG 3 Phase II exam?

It appears on the careers section of fci.gov.in once Phase I results are out and the Phase II schedule is set. Only candidates shortlisted from Phase I can download it.

What if my photo or name is wrong on the admit card?

Contact the helpdesk given in the notice at once with your registration number. Do not edit the card by hand. Carry your original photo ID and an extra photo to the centre.
